SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAM
The School-Age Program provides care for children ages five to
12 before and after school, on school holidays and during
summer vacation. Our program is accredited through the National
After School Association (NAA), and provides quality care for
children of active duty military, DOD and NAF civilians,
Reservists and base contractors. We promote an enriching
environment by meeting the social, cognitive, physical and
developmental needs of school-age youth. Fees are based on total
family income. Bus transportation to and from Pine Grove
Elementary and Hahira Middle School is provided by the Lowndes
County Board of Education. The Youth Center offers van
transportation from Dewar Elementary, Sallas-Mahone Elementary,
Open Bible Baptist School and Valwood School for an additional

SOCIAL RECREATION
The Youth Center is open for recreational activities each
afternoon and on Saturdays for pre-teens and teens. Self-directed areas offer pool, ping-pong, foosball, computers,
video games, TV, full-court gymnasium and a Teen Lounge. Youth
Center members have unlimited access to these areas during
operational hours. Guests may accompany a member for a fee.
Membership fee is $30 per year.
TORCH CLUB
Small-group youth leadership and service club for members ages 9
to 12 years old. Club staff can help meet the needs of younger
adolescents at a critical stage of their development. This group
meets every Monday at 5 p.m.
COOKING CLASSES
Come cook up some of your favorite recipes. Preteens and teens
learn everything from proper food preparation to making
delicious snacks and meals using the Food Guide Pyramid. This
class is offered every other Monday at 5 p.m.
FINE ARTS
Youth ages 9 to 18 meet every other Thursday at 5 p.m. to experience a
variety of artistic media such as art, music and drama.
GIVE PARENTS
A BREAK
Air Force Aid Society’s respite care program for youth in
Kindergarten through age 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. once a month. Care is provided for
children of deployed parents, single parents, and others who
need a break. Referrals are required and can be obtained at the
Family Support Center, Chapel, Child Development Center, or
Youth Center.
FIT FACTOR
Fitness Program: Join our new web-based Air Force fitness
program for youth and teens ages 9 to 18. This program integrates
fitness and health activities into all your favorite activities
at the Youth Center, school and home. Set personal goals and
achieve rewards.
KIDS NIGHT
OUT
Mom and Dad, want a night out but don’t know what to do with the
kids? Well, bring them to the Youth Center for Kids Night Out
one Friday every month from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. for a fun-filled night
with their friends. We have games, crafts, movies and dinner
for all kids in kindergarten through age 12. Cost is $15; Youth
Programs members will receive a $2 discount. Check our calendar
for the next one!
TRAIL ADVENTURES
If you are into the outdoors, this is for you. TRAIL
participants take part in many outdoor trips and high
adventures. Join us for camping, hiking, snorkeling, sailing,
canoeing, ropes courses, parasailing and much more! For ages
13 to 18.
KEYSTONE
Keeping Every Youth Strongly Tuned in On National Excellence. This youth advisory program encompasses community service,
leadership and social development. This group, the heart of
Moody’s teen programs, meets every Wednesday at 5 p.m. for
youths ages 13 to 18.
TEEN POWER HOUR
Helps teens by providing homework assistance and tutoring. Computers are available. A free healthy snack is offered to all
participants. This program operates Monday through Thursday
from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
CONGRESSIONAL AWARD PROGRAM
A volunteer recognition program for ages 13 to 24 allows young
people the opportunity to set personal goals and achieve them.
Goal areas include volunteer public service, personal
development, physical fitness and expedition/exploration.
Participants meet individually with an advisor.
YOUTH OF THE QUARTER AND YOUTH OF THE YEAR
A program that recognizes members’ service to Club and Community
through participation in youth programs, volunteer programs and
academic successes. Youth in grades 10 to 12 are eligible to
compete.
Y.E.S
The Youth Employment Skills program is an on-base volunteer
program for 9th to 12th graders of active duty members. Students
may accumulate as many as 250 service hours over four years, for
a potential of $1,000 in scholarship money for college or
technical school.
BATTLE CLUB
Play
games of strategy every Thursday at 6 p.m. Learn about the
history of battle and the challenges of risk through board
games, trips, scale models and video documentaries. For ages
12 and up.
THE TEEN
SCENE
You asked for it, you got it! Saturdays are now teen-only
nights at the Youth Center. Bring your friends and hang out,
watch movies, play pool, foosball or Playstation 2. The gym is
open for basketball, too! The whole building belongs to you.
For ages 13 to 18 only.
CLUB TEEN
Teens, tell your friends to join you at the Youth Center for a
night of music, dancing, food or a pickup basketball game. Tell
Mom and Dad you will be late! We are open until midnight once
each month just for you! Check the calendar for the next Club
Teen Saturday night!
