Airman & Family Readiness Flight
Formerly known
as the Family Support Center, your Airman & Family Readiness Flight (A&FRF)
serves DoD personnel and their families (to include Guard and Reserve
members), civilian employees (to include NAF), and their immediate
family members, other eligible uniformed members, and retirees and their
eligible family members.
We support the
various missions of the 23rd Wing and its tenant organizations by
providing individuals, families, and leadership with policy,
programs and services that strengthen communities and promote
self-sufficiency, mission readiness, and adaptation to the Air
Force way of life.
Our mission is
three-fold:

Assist commanders with their responsibilities for health, welfare and
readiness of the military community
- Support and
maintain mission readiness by assisting individuals and their families
adapt to the changes and demands of military life
- Collaborate
with Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard to ensure all family
members are prepared for the unique rolls and responsibilities
associated with activation, mobilization and deployment.
The following core
services are provided to assist the military community
Financial Management -
offering information, education, and personal counseling to assist
individuals and families maintain financial readiness and reach their
financial goals.
Information and
Referral -
assisting personnel and their
families identify and clarify needs, help determine an appropriate
course of action, and refer to appropriate agency...be it an on or
off base resource. Crisis assistance is provided to address
immediate short-term support of challenging life situations.
Personal Preparedness & Family Readiness
- providing individuals and their families information and education to
support them during times of separation or crisis (remote tours of
duty, deployments, or extended TDYs), reunion and reintegration, natural
disasters/evacuations.
Relocation Assistance - assisting
the individual in making informed decisions and preparation for
departure and arrival. Information/referrals regarding housing,
schools, child care etc.
Transition & Employment -
assisting
in achieving your career/employment goals is provided by way of
employment skills training, self-employment resources, small
business/entrepreneurial education, labor market information, linkage to
alternatives to paid employment (volunteerism and education), and other
resources. Resume assistance is available to spouses as well as the
active duty member. Transition services are delivered to
separating, retiring, or demobilizing (Guard/Reserve) individuals
through a partnership with the Georgia Department of Labor (DoL).
