How Can I Become an Off-Base Affiliated Provider?
If you live off-base and are the spouse of an active duty military member, retiree or DoD civilian, you can be a part of the FCC Program. You must meet the same requirements and will receive the same benefits as an on-base provider.
How Can I Become an On-Base Provider?
The Family Child Care Program is
staffed with trained child care providers who care for children in their
homes. You can qualify to become a provider by completing an
application form and participating in FCC Orientation Training.
Licensed providers receive training
in nutrition, planning age
appropriate activities, recognizing child abuse and
neglect,
proper safety
practices in their home and other related topics. Family Child
Care
Providers receive CPR and First Aid Certificates and must successfully pass
required home inspections
and background screenings.
The Family
Child Care Program offers an extensive resource center that includes age
appropriate games, toys, puzzles, books and equipment that help providers
start their business and offer and maintain quality care in their homes.
The Moody Family Child Care Program accepts children, employment of staff
and
approval of providers with chronic health problems.

How Can I Enroll My Child in Family Child Care?
Parents wishing to enroll either two to twelve year old children in the FCC
program can obtain the names of certified providers by contacting the FCC
office. A current list is also available at the CDC, Youth Center,
Airman and Family Readiness Center and Family Housing Office. Parents are
responsible for contacting each provider to find out which one best suits
their child care needs.
Prior to starting care
in an FCC home, parents must complete all registration forms with their
provider of choice. Parents must schedule a time with the FCC
Coordinator to have their fees evaluated, and must attach current LES and/or
pay statements for both sponsor and spouse.
Special Programs
Expanded Duty Care
Expanded Duty Care (EDC) is available seven days
a week, 24 hours a day for individuals who work extended hours, change of
shifts and other non-regular hours. EDC is also available for support
during exercises and deployments. EDC must be scheduled through the FCC
Coordinator and approval must be given before use.
Returning Home Care
Have you just returned from a deployment?
Returning Home Care provides 16 hours of free child care to help you spend
more time with your spouse or to catch up on family duties. Care is
available for children aged two weeks to 12 years, and only the most
experienced and competent care providers are selected for this program.
Schedule care with the FFC Coordinator.
Permanent Change of Station Care
This program is available to families processing
into or out of Moody. Families are entitled to 20 hours of PCS care in a
FCC home. Contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center or FCC office for
more information.
Volunteer Child Care
Are you a volunteer on Moody AFB seeking child
care? The Volunteer Child Care program is designed to provide quality child
care through the FCC program and is sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society.
Subsidy Program
Military Child Development Center (CDC) and
School-Age Care (SAC) programs and subsidized Family Child Care Programs

children who attend on a regular basis. These fees include meals and
snacks. According to AF and DoD policy each program must verify TFI
annually and adjust annual fees accordingly.
