Enrolling Your Child
at the CDC
Full-time day care can be reserved by filling out an application at the CDC. The program may have a waiting list for some age groups; if immediate
care is not available for your child (ages 2 weeks to 12 years), patrons can
fill out a DD Form 2606, Request for Child Care. This form can be
filled out either at the Child Development Center, Family Child Care or
Youth Programs. The CDC maintains a centralized waiting list for the
Family Members Program Flight. Upon completion of the DD Form 2606,
your form will also be forwarded to the Family Quality Child Care Office.
Staff will update this form monthly to inform you of your child's status on
the waiting list. If the CDC staff call you about a vacant slot in any
of the programs, you will have 24 hours to respond to the request.
CDC weekly rates are based on total family income. Upon enrollment at the CDC, you will be asked to bring in your most recent leave and earnings statement/pay statement. The staff will fill out a DD form 2652 for income verification. If you have immediate child care needs, contact Family Child Care.
Pre-Kindergarten
The Moody CDC, in conjunction with Bright from the Start Department of Early
Care and Learning, offers a pre-kindergarten program. Children who will be four years old by September 1 are eligible to participate in this program. Pre-K is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, and runs in conjunction with the Lowndes County School System. Pre-K hours of operation are Monday
through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hourly Care
Hourly care is offered when space is available. Parents can make reservations two weeks in advance
up until the same day. If space is not available when you call, you will be placed on a waiting list and our staff will notify you if space becomes available. Reservations are given on a first-come, first-serve basis. The fee is $4 an hour per child.
Give Parents a Break
Another way we take care of our families is through the "Give Parents A Break" program, which brings together the Child Development Center, Youth Programs and the Air Force Aid Society to provide free child care to parents one Saturday per month. Referrals can be obtained from your commander, first sergeant, family support center, base chaplain, medical group, youth programs or CDC employees.
